LES Is More
Friday, May 8, 2015
7:00-9:00pm
Downtown Art Theater

Celebrate the Lower East Side’s legacy of activism with true stories from three activists who have fought in the trenches and lived through tremendous transformation in the LES. The second installment of LES Is More spotlights Loisaida activism, in honor of Lower East Side History Month. Now in its 2nd year, LES History Month is a platform for asserting local identity, pushing back at its erosion, and opening new dialogue about the present and the future.

Featuring stories from Fly (LES squatter movement), Frances Goldin (Cooper Square Committee), and Raul Rios (LatinosNYC).

Share your own stories, memories, poetry, music, and more in our Open Forum!

This is a FREE event.

The Downtown Art studio is located at 61 East 4th St (between the Bowery and 2nd Avenue), Suite 7W (on the 7th Floor). Take the F train to 2nd Avenue, the 6 train to Astor Place, the N,R to 8th Street, or the B,D,F,M to Broadway-Lafayette.
